Ministries

Administration Ministry supports all other ministries of the church by managing the business and organizational aspects of the ministry. Various responsibilities include event planning, scheduling, and other ministerial needs. Communication skills are vital as these individuals may be called upon to disseminate information through written or verbal modes.

Armor Bearers Ministry includes those who are called to directly serve the men and women of God. These members attend to the humanity of the messengers of God so that they may concentrate on the divinity of the message. Individuals with a heart for service and a talent for personal attention have what it takes to be an armor bearer.

Brothers in God (B.I.G.) is the men’s ministry, and it provides a supportive brotherhood for the men of our ministry. By understanding their individual purposes, these men aspire to act with wisdom in the changing seasons of life. All male members at City on the Hill are members of this brotherhood.

DIVA is the women’s ministry, and it supports and encourages the women of City on the Hill. The DIVAS. unites women through fellowship and the common purpose of achieving virtue and power in Christ. All female members at City On The Hill are members of this sisterhood.

Deacons Ministry adds a human touch to the procedures of the worship experience. The various responsibilities include, but are not limited to: guiding the offertory time and keeping order during the service. People who enjoy problem solving and making sure things get done are ideal for this ministry.

Evangelism Ministry prepares our members to follow the great commission by instructing saints on how to evangelize. Anyone with a desire to share their faith with others is welcome to join.

Finance Ministry has the important job of counting and recording the financial gifts people have given to God in the form of tithes, offerings, and other contributions. Anyone who loves crunching numbers and has a sense of integrity will enjoy a position within this ministry.

Greeters Ministry sets a tone of the service as members of this ministry welcome people into the sanctuary. It prepares all who enter City on the Hill for the worship experience. Those who love to share their spirit through a friendly smile, a hearty handshake, or a generous hug is well-equipped to become a greeter.

Healing and Visitations Ministry serves those with a desire to participate in the worship experience, but due to health reasons, do not have the ability to attend. Members of the ministry serve communion to those who are hospitalized of homebound, Servants for this ministry should have a special concern and compassion for the elderly and the sick.

Intercessory Prayer Ministry includes the “watchmen on the wall” who have been impressed to pray for certain, urgent needs or the needs of others. This ministry invites those members with an intense, passionate, enthusiastic mindset and desire to know how to pray the Word of God to join this ministry.

Levites Ministry covers the elders, elders – elect, ministers, and ministers – in training. This area of ministry consists of men and women of God who serves as spiritual leaders of the church. The elders (those who are ordained) provide spiritual counseling, leadership and support to the Senior Pastor. Ministers (licensed members) and ministers-in-training are those who have accepted their call to the five-fold ministry, but they also require training and guidance in the application of their specific gift.

Music & Worship Arts Ministry facilitates the many forms of music and fine arts through worship at City on the Hill. It encourages members to use their gifts whether in song, dance, poetry, drama, or rhythm and thyme. Anyone with a heart to worship can make a move into this exciting and powerful ministry. The various ministries associated with this area of worship include: dance ministry, steppers, the praise team, hop hip hop artists, choir members, mimes, or musicians.

The Blue Print Ministry helps those who have made the decision to join City on the Hill get acquainted with their new church. Among its tasks, this ministry leads the new members’ fellowships, welcomes and processes paperwork for individuals who respond to the alter call, and provides follow-up to the new members. Anyone who enjoys welcoming people and has a passion for nurturing individuals to grow is suitable for this area of ministry.

Parking Ministry maintains the safety and security for members and their vehicles while they attend worship services and special events. Those with security, police or military experience or individuals with a heart for protecting other will do well in this ministry.

Prison ministry goes to where physical bodies are confined, but their spirits can still be freed, those with fearless spirits and a gift for evangelizing can contribute to this ministry.

Protocol Ministry makes sure that all worship services flow in the spirit of excellence and order. It is the job of protocol ministries to maintain the integrity of every service event. Those with an eye for detail and a heart to serve and assist will thrive in this ministry.

Sermon Media captures the worship experience through recording of messages, sermons, and bible study lessons on various recorded media modes. Members spread the Word both inside and outside the church through marketing and sales of ministry media products. Those who are excited about sharing the word of God and like interacting with people are ready to serve in Building people.

Ushers Ministry maintains the essential position of doorkeepers in the Lord’s house. Among the responsibilities of this ministry, ushers ensure proper seating in the house of the Lord. Individuals who are courteous and enjoy assisting people are suited to become a part of this ministry.

Young Adult Ministry (Y.A.M.) reaches City on the Hill members between the ages of 18 thru 30 years of age. The ministry’s main objective is to support, encourage, and empower young adults to freely utilize their gifts in the body of Christ while providing a strong and reliable support system at this period of transition in their young adult lives. Every young adult is a member of this ministry.

Young at Heart Ministry addresses the needs of the “seasoned saints” age 60 and over. These members seek a “closer walk with thee” and through fellowship, edify one another. Every member 60+ years of life experience can enjoy the benefits of the seniors’ ministry.

City Kidz & City Starz serves the youth of City on the Hill. It has the vital responsibility of equipping the next generation of Christians through assisting them to find and utilize their specific gifts at an early age. Youth members are encouraged to attend and participate in all youth services and activities. All children and youth, ages 4-17 are a part of the youth ministry.
